Vocational College of Hospitality and Tourism is a higher vocational college, offering 2 study programmes, namely hospitality and wellness programme. The hospitality programme (2 years, 120 ECTS, ISCED 6) enables students to specialize in F&B, Hotel management, or destination management; while the focus of the Wellness programme (also 2 years, 120 ECTS, ISCED 6) is in sports management, healthy food and healthy lifestyle. The school also includes a fine-dining school restaurant that has been for several years in the row awarded with a Michelin plate and can also be found among JRE and Gault Millau for its quality. The organizational unit MIC – Academy of culinary arts is the school’s B2B centre that organizes training, workshops and courses for the professional and general public and works on development strategies with local and regional stakeholders. VGST has been a member of numerous international associations in the field of hospitality management (AEHT, EURHODIP, EuroCHRIE). All of them provide an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas and organise international student competitions that we see as a great added value to the offered study programmes. These associations also provide a great network for the exchange of teachers and staff, and create joint initiatives. Many of the school’s staff are sitting in international boards (the school director is the National representative in the executive Board of AEHT) and are judges in international competitions.
The school has a new modern building, built in 2014, stretching over 2,800m2 of functional space with the most modern school kitchen in this part of Europe.
