The module presents an introduction to the topic of sustainability, its basic principles and how they are applied within businesses in hospitality. Application in businesses is embedded in the EU policy framework, it explores the benefits of the application of sustainable practices in SMEs, introduces the frameworks of sustainability reporting and presents case studies from project partner countries.

Upon completion of this module, you will have a greater understanding on the role of innovation, and technology in developing a sustainable business and the importance of developing a strategy for sustainability.

The module will be linked to sustainable practices to ensure that you have oversight of global best practices on which to model your strategic sustainable plan.
